Silence - Guest Blog by Tim Hall
Have you ever given thought to what music would sound like without the silence between the beats or the notes? Maybe you’ve heard someone speak and felt the power of a word or thought, that came just after a pause. The pause is a splendid thing. God may have given us the unheard…the quiet…to take notice of, or even herald, the sound that follows.
Hmm, in the English language, the words “SILENT” and “LISTEN” possess the same letters. It’s often in the silence we hear most clearly the words of our Maker. Living in the chaos day by day, trying to navigate this world without hearing Him speak, is like being at sea without a compass.
If we are constantly moving or amid the noise, we might not even know He is saying to us, “Be still…and know that I am God. (Psalm 46:10)
If we’re not really listening, what else might we be missing?
What’s the difference between a cat and a semi-colon?
One, the claws are at the end of the paws; the other, the pause is at the end of a clause.
