Looking Forward

Looking Forward

Recently I caught myself bemoaning the fact that I didn't seem to be as productive as I once had been. So, I examined my life and tried to put together a plan. The funny thing was that my plan started to appear as a re-creation of my "old" life.

I truly believe at that moment God breathed something new into my spirit. "Don't re-create what was. Look forward to the new thing I'm doing in you."

Instantly my mood switched from regret and guilt to one of enthusiasm and joy and anticipation.

Look forward. Not back. Look at your future days, weeks and years with a clear picture of God holding your hand, beaming at you with love-filled eyes.

The enemy of your soul is the one that wants to fill you with energy-sucking regret. And we all have regret.

The Lover of your soul wants to grab you by the hand, pull you to your feet and fill you with His unconditional love. A love that will empower you to go forward with joy.

"God gave us a spirit not of fear but of power and love and self-control."

(2 Timothy 1:7)

"The thief comes only to steal and kill and destroy. I came that they may have life and have it abundantly."

(John 10:10)
